[The sole child and heir to a noble family, Kagami had...a reputation, amongst the house and social circles. The young man was well-mannered, always wearing a polite smile and offering a listening ear to anyone he encountered, but he had some flaws. Being a shameless flirt to everyone he met at parties being one. Despite the fact, he never approached any of the potential suitors the day after, and was warned to have broken many hearts. That was all relatively unusual, but it could be explained by his behavior. The other thing...couldn't.

There was just something...off about him, and the house as a whole. His smile never reached his eyes, which seemed to be empty, lending even more to his almost doll-like appearance at times, which was too delicate and muted. It had lead to whispers that his family had participated in activities all from the unsavory to working with demonic forces.

But those were just silly rumors!

They didn't matter, and they never seemed to bother Kagami.

Within the house, he was known to be polite, but often more trouble than he was worth.

Which is why everyone knows to make themselves suddenly and conveniently busy as he hums cheerfully down one of the expansive corridors, his voice echoing and an article of clothing draped over his arm. He stops when he sees his ~~victim~~ target and laughs, waving cheerfully.]

Shigeru! My favorite! I got lost looking for you...! Could you please help me out with this waistcoat?

[ Shigeru had been brought in to help the family when his parents accidentally got into some debt. He's way too shy for a person like Kagami and more often than not remains quiet and silent, almost as if he were mute. But somehow Kagami seems to find him every time he's cleaning or doing his job?! The rumors about the young lord did not go past Shigeru, it's probably why his posture stiffens and his green eyes look away quickly as he bows a little to Kagami. ]

I-I can, of course! Um, please, right this way. [ He is just going to motion towards the room that is used as a guest suite for when potential suitors and other important guests arrive. ] You seem to be in a-a good mood today.

[The pleasant and unreadable smile Kagami normally wears widens into something resembling delight. Shigeru is so quiet, but when he acknowledges Kagami in his soft and shy way, he always makes the young lord’s thoughts so loud that he fears he might develop a headache!

Is that normal? He has no idea. He follows Shigeru into the guest suite, humming in thought.]

Do I now…? I suppose I am in a particularly good mood!

[That’s right! He claps his hands together and makes a show of spinning on his heel, facing Shigeru with a smile that’s too bright and innocent.]

Today is our anniversary~!

Well as-as long as that's the case then it's a very good day! [ He enjoys seeing Kagami happy, especially in times like these. Though Shigeru's thoughts are abruptly cut off by the suddenness of Kagami's claim and words. He falters as his face goes bright red and he makes to clasp his gloved hands over Kagami's mouth. His expression was mortified and worried. ]

P-Please don't s-say that out loud!!! What-what if someone hears you and-and gets the wrong idea?! [ Shigeru would be beaten, surely, and probably thrown in the dungeon or worse?! DEATH!! ]

If-if your p-parents found out it-it would be bad. [ He looks a little scared as he sighs and his tense shoulders droop ever so slightly. ]

Mn--!

[He probably should be vexed to have Shigeru cut him off in such a forceful way. If it was anyone else, Kagami thinks he would be upset. But any contact with Shigeru, even this, makes his cheeks warm. He wishes he'd do more of it.

So he stands there, oddly patient for someone who's been rendered speechless. Remorse is delayed, flashing across his features as he connects the dots Shigeru's drawn for him.]

I'm sorry, Shigeru. I should have announced our anniversary more quietly. I'm just happy I met you.

[ Hjhsja! He flusters all over again because he put his hands on a noble's son, my god, he is just walking on thin ice today!! Shigeru will flinch a little as he pulls his arms away looking at the floor like he's about to be reprimanded or hit or both.

It's a built-in response that he can't quite help. ]

S-Sorry! I...I didn't mean to, um, to touch you. [ He's so fidgety, sorry Kagami! ] I'm happy I-I met you too. It's been a pleasure w-working for you and your family! They-they're very generous...

[ His voice gets lower and lower as he looks away. He will fidget in place as his gloved hands fiddle with the hem of his shirt. ] Should I...help you with your waistcoat now?

Shigeru.

[His remarks about Kagami's family go ignored as his hands hold his, away from his shirt. He shares none of his nervousness-- to an extent. This is the most he'll dare, and it's out of true concern rather than an attempt to tease him.]

You're shaking. You'll ruin your shirt. [...] I'm sorry I teased you. Right. My waistcoat.

[As if that wasn't just an excuse.]

[ Shigeru is too stressed and a huge mess for this Kagami!! He does keep his gaze away from Kagami even when the other takes his hands into his. A flush spreading on his cheeks is so very apparent when his hands are held like that. ]

S-Sorry. I-I made things awkward again... [ he's too on edge and he knows it makes things weird, sorry!! ] I'm fine. Sorry that I-I made you worry.

[ He doesn't like it when Kagami is upset and not smiling it feels wrong to see him like that. ]

You didn't make things awkward.

[He kind of did, but not in that itchy, uncomfortable way that Kagami experienced whenever he interacted with the peerage. He's charmed by Shigeru like he would an open book. Unfortunate that it only makes things harder for poor Shigeru. He really should make an effort to tone it down, he likes having him around and being able to talk to someone.

His neck might feel warm and his chest might squeeze, but his smile comes easily, a practiced thing. He hopes it's convincing. He doesn't like it when Shigeru worries.]

Are you thirsty? Perhaps you're dehydrated.

Oh! Thirsty?! Maybe...I-I haven't taken a break since I started this morning. [ Shigeru it is almost 2 pm, please relax?! ]

I-I could make us some tea or juice, c-coffee maybe? [ So many options, which one does Kagami want though?! ] Or water is just fine. Maybe water...

[ He is feeling a bit hot as the flush on his cheeks remains ever so present. ]

[The smile on Kagami's face promises chaos. They're alone, so he doesn't worry when his hands find Shigeru's shoulders, guiding him to one of the plush seats.]

I'll make it~! I've watched you so many times I'm practically an expert by now! You just relax.

O-Oh! [ He flusters, again, as Kagami puts his hands on his shoulders and ushers him to sit. He's straight as a board, hands folding into his lap as he watches the other. ] Are you..sure?

[ Shigeru is oblivious to the chaos...for now. ] I-I really should do it! It-it's not...not proper etiquette to have you make it.

[ Shigeru being associated with the word relax?? Perish at the thought. He might also be going to get up again... ]

[There. Kagami's hands rest on Shigeru's shoulders a little longer than he probably needs them to.]

Silly! Since when have I cared about etiquette?

[It's like expecting Shigeru to relax!!!]

You'll be so impressed and proud with how skilled I am, you have my word. I'll brew you some relaxing coffee!!!

I-I don't...know. [ Shigeru mumbles as he looks exceedingly shy as Kagami's hands remain on his shoulders. He does manage a smile and a laugh though. ]

C-Coffee's not really for relaxing. But I-I guess I could use the boost of energy.

[ Kagami stresses him out but he doesn't say that out loud!! ] So I just...wait here?

It’s not? Hmmm. Would you prefer something else?

[He cants his head. Shigeru doesn’t need to tell him that he stresses him out. But Kagami thinks it’s cute that Shigeru tries to spare his feelings!]

Yep! Wait right here. Don’t be afraid to take a nap…!

[He’ll dart off to the kitchen, surely causing a scandal or at least enough gossip to occupy everyone for a week.]

N-No! I-I'll drink whatever you make for me... [ wah! So shy as he looks away before nodding. ]

Oh! Okay! Let me know if-if you need any help?! [ He does watch as Kagami leaves so openly?! Oh my god!!! Shigeru will bury his face in his hands because this is just embarrassing!! But once that wears off and Shigeru is actually taking some time to relax he can't help but feel a bit drowsy. Maybe a nap would do him some good. He might be dosing in his seat when Kagami gets back. ]

Okay~! Don't worry, I'll prepare the best drink you've ever had!

[When Kagami returns with a tray of (soothing, relaxing) tea and coffee and snacks the yelling in the background miiight be due to him.]

Shigeru...guess who's banned from the kitchen?!
